'Hands On' was established in 1995 and has grown impressively over the period of 10 years since that time. Proprietor Matt Handy has worked with 1000's of other DJs during those ten years and the business is now fully established on shop premises based in Albert Road in Southsea.
Having DJ'ed himself for about twelve years, Matt's long term knowledge and experience with the dance music industry has allowed him to be able to cater for any kind of dance music taste. As a record store, the shop stocks every type of dance music related 12" vinyl available and quite often before most high street stores. 'Hands On' are the largest independent stockists in the south of every possible label. The boys at hands on records haven't been sat still for very long at all lately (well perhaps ever in the last 10 yrs) and celebrated their 10th Birthday last year with some mammoth parties there is even more in the pipe line for 2006. As well a buying a new shop which will be located across the road in Albert Rd, they will be turning the old premises located at the back of Albert Rd into a Full recording studio - HANDS ON STUDIOS will offer a rehearsal room for bands as well as qualified engineers.Rates so cheap, bands and DJs are able to record & practice on a small budget.
